After you finish the GRE, you’ll receive a quant section score on a scale from 130 to 170. Your quant score will also be added to your Verbal Reasoning score to produce your overall GRE composite score, on a scale from 260 to 340.

GRE Analytical Writing (AW)

The GRE exam begins with a 30-minute Analytical Writing task, scored on a scale from 0 to 6. The Analytical Writing score is not included in your GRE composite score.

We have good news for anybody who doesn’t love writing: the Analytical Writing score is rarely a major factor in graduate school admissions, and most test-takers perform adequately on the essay with minimal preparation. As a result, we don’t recommend spending much of your valuable study time on this section.
