How Much Does the GMAT Focus Cost?

Updated for the new GMAT in 2024

GMAT Focus Edition costs:

  • United States: $275 at a test center or $300 online

  • India: $275 at a test center or $300 online

  • United Kingdom: £250 at a test center or £275 online

  • Most of Europe: €275 at a test center or €300 online.

The most detailed and up-to-date prices can be found on mba.com. Your test fee includes the option to send your scores to up to five MBA programs.

In addition to the GMAT Focus test fee, you may choose to purchase additional services and features. Continue reading to determine whether these additional GMAT services will be worth the investment for you.

GMAT FOCUS RESCHEDULING FEES

(Find the latest information on GMAT rescheduling fees here.)

Rescheduling costs:

  • More than 60 days before GMAT appointment: $55 - $60

  • 15-60 days before GMAT appointment: $110 - $120

  • 14 or fewer days before GMAT appointment: $165 - $180

Rescheduling your GMAT Focus Edition appointment costs more as you get closer to your test date. While it can be unpleasant to spend $55-$180 in addition to your GMAT test fee, it is sometimes worth the price to reschedule your GMAT exam.

You should consider rescheduling your GMAT if:

  1. You can no longer make it to your original appointment (obviously), OR

  2. It becomes clear that you’re not fully prepared for the GMAT.

It’s not uncommon to schedule the GMAT Focus exam well in advance, and then realize as the date gets closer that you’re not as well prepared as you thought you’d be.

Unfortunately, you’re only allowed 5 GMAT attempts in any 12-month period and 8 attempts in a lifetime. Note: your previous attempts of the “old” GMAT DO count toward your yearly and lifetime limits.  If you’re getting close to your exam limits, don’t throw away an attempt because you don’t want to pay the GMAT reschedule fee. Just bite the bullet, pay the GMAT rescheduling fee, and give yourself more time to study.

Also, please be aware that you can’t reschedule your test within 24 hours of your appointment time, so make your final decision well before that window.

THE BOTTOM LINE: RESCHEDULE YOUR GMAT IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT TO YOUR APPOINTMENT, OR IF YOU’RE UNPREPARED AND CAN’T AFFORD TO WASTE AN ATTEMPT.

CANCELING YOUR GMAT FOCUS EXAM APPOINTMENT

(Find the latest information on GMAT Focus cancellation fees here.)

GMAT Cancelation Costs:

  • More than 60 days before GMAT appointment: $110 - $120 refund

  • 15-60 days before GMAT appointment: $80 - $90 refund

  • 1-14 days before GMAT appointment: $55 - $60 refund

You should think about canceling your GMAT test date if:

  1. You signed up for an extra test date but don’t need it because you already achieved your GMAT score goal, OR

  2. You’re really not ready to take the GMAT.

It’s marginally cheaper to reschedule a GMAT test date than to cancel and get an entirely new appointment. Unfortunately, it’s possible that you’re so far from being ready for the GMAT that you don’t know when to schedule your next GMAT test appointment. If you’re in that situation, it may make sense to cancel your GMAT test appointment entirely instead of rescheduling it multiple times.

THE BOTTOM LINE: CANCEL YOUR GMAT FOCUS APPOINTMENT IF YOU’RE COMPLETELY DONE WITH THE GMAT, OR IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHEN YOU’LL BE READY TO TAKE THE EXAM.

SENDING ADDITIONAL GMAT FOCUS SCORE REPORTS TO MBA PROGRAMS

Cost: $35 for each additional GMAT Focus Edition score report

Once you receive your official GMAT Focus score report in your mba.com account, you have 48 hours to send your score to up to five schools. This service is included in your GMAT Focus test fee.

After test day, you can send your GMAT score report to any number of MBA or other graduate programs at a cost of $35 each.

There are plenty of circumstances in which you may find yourself sending additional GMAT score reports. If your target MBA programs change after you take your GMAT exam, you’ll have to send your GMAT score report to any graduate programs you’ve added to your list. If you’re applying to more than 5 MBA programs, you’ll also have to send an additional GMAT score report.

THE BOTTOM LINE: IT MAY BE WORTH IT TO PAY TO SEND ADDITIONAL GMAT FOCUS SCORE REPORTS TO YOUR TARGET MBA PROGRAMS.
